Privacy policy

At Side-Car ("we"), we protect the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what information we collect on our website https://side-car.ca (the "Site"), why we collect it, which providers we work with, and how to exercise your rights.

1. Information you give us

  • Contact form: your first name, last name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message.
  • "Start a project" form: your name, email address, phone number, company name and your answers about the project (project type, goals, desired tone, timing, budget, details). You can also request the free brand audit.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, your first name, last name and email address. Mailings go through a third-party newsletter platform.

2. Information collected automatically

A. For every visitor, without cookies

  • Metricool: cookieless audience measurement. On each page view, the page address and your screen size are sent to Metricool's servers, which also receive your IP address. No identifier is stored on your device.
  • Craft Analytics: traffic statistics hosted on our own servers, without cookies.

B. With your consent ("Analytics" category)

  • Google Analytics: pages visited, visit length, device and browser type, approximate region, and the site you came from. Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept. If you decline, Google may still receive cookieless signals to estimate traffic (Google Consent Mode).
  • Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings (clicks, scrolling) to understand how the Site is used. Clarity, along with its cookies and Microsoft's, loads only if you accept.

C. Strictly necessary

  • Site operation and security: a session cookie and a security token for forms.
  • CookieYes: a cookie that remembers your cookie choices.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: on forms, to block automated submissions (spam). Google receives technical information about your browsing and device.
  • Adobe Fonts: your browser downloads our typefaces from Adobe's servers, which receive your IP address.

3. How we use your information

  • To answer your messages and project requests;
  • To send you our newsletter, only if you have consented;
  • To measure and improve the Site's traffic;
  • To protect our forms against automated submissions.

4. Cookies, consent and unsubscribing

Cookies: on your first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all or choose by category. You can change your mind at any time with the cookie settings button at the bottom of the screen. CookieYes keeps a record of your choice (consent ID, date, country and truncated IP address). Your choice is remembered for 12 months. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.

Newsletter: you can unsubscribe at any time with the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Side-Car does not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We use the following providers, which process some data on our behalf:

  • Web host: Site hosting, on servers located in Canada;
  • Email delivery service: sending the emails generated by the forms;
  • Google: Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA;
  • Microsoft: Clarity;
  • Metricool: cookieless audience measurement;
  • CookieYes: management of your cookie consent;
  • Adobe: typefaces (Adobe Fonts);
  • Newsletter platform: managing our mailing list and sending the newsletter.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. On request to the person in charge (section 8), we will give you more details about these providers.

6. Retention, security and transfers outside Québec

Your information is protected by reasonable security measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to the people who need it.

Several of the providers listed above process data outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States and Europe.

7. Your rights

Under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, you can:

  • Access the information we hold about you;
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time;
  • Ask us to delete your information from our databases and mailing lists.

You can also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
